"Bad Times at the El Royale" Feels like a Slow, Steady Dive into Pulp Fiction

If you like a classic Pulp Fiction novel, you're going to love this new movie starring Chris Hemsworth and Dakota Johnson.

Cynthia Erivo and Jeff Bridges were the star performers here though with unequivocally great performances as the lost lounge singer and the ex-con garbed in a priest's robe.

The movie had some very intense and compelling scenes. There were times though that I felt the story dragged and lacked cohesion. I didn't see a defined "point" as to why all these particular characters were brought together under the roof of the El Royale besides perhaps an over-arching philosophical or moral tale that the film presented. I didn't love this film, but I thought it had some good themes.
