"Love, Antosha": A Powerful Anthem to the Human Spirit

Love, Antosha is a moving portrait of the late Anton Yelchin, an actor known for his indomitable spirit, his sense of curiosity, and his vast body of work.

Martin Landau, Jodi Foster, J.J. Abrams, Jennifer Lawrence, John Cho, Chris Pine, and Kristen Stewart come together in Garrett Price's new documentary Love, Antosha to pay tribute to an actor and friend who was a monumental part of their lives and their careers. The intimate documentary held its world-wide premiere at The Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

Anton is known for his role as Chekov in three Star Trek films: Star Trek, Star Trek: Into Darkness and post-humously in Star Trek Beyond. His early work includes key roles in Hearts of Atlantis alongside Anthony Hopkins and in Charlie Bartlett, and the miniseries, Taken.

The film explores his rise as a talented child actor as he goes on to become a mature adult with a vast wealth of cinematic knowledge beginning with his exploration into roles like Travis Bickle from Scorsese's iconic film, Taxi Driver.

Love, Antosha addresses Anton's lifetime struggle with cystic fibrosis and his indomitable spirit to keep working and fighting the disease. The actor died tragically in an accident at the tender age of 27. He was prolific, acting in 69 roles in film and television. He is remembered by his peers as a great talent and a mature, hard-working actor. Martin Landau referred to the actor as an "old soul" and a "peer."

The film follows Anton chronologically throughout his life and highlights his sweet devotion to his mother, Irina and his father, Viktor. His parents were professional figure skaters who fled the Soviet Union and arrived in the United States when Anton was only a small child.

This film is a powerful tribute to Anton's life and an intimate portrayal of an artist who loved life, his family, and friends as he dedicated his life to his work. The film is emotionally stirring and reveals an artist who was willing to take a deep dive into the human psyche to explore all emotions and elements of the human condition. He was a rare soul, indeed.

Love, Antosha is an exquisite film and one that every lover of cinema should see.
