How many Americans are aware of the blaxploitation film genre? If you aren't, you should be! In the new film, "Dolemite is My Name", the incredibly talented Eddie Murphy gives a stunning performance in a reinvention of a 1975 blaxploitation film called "Dolemite."
Eddie Murphy is brilliant! "My Name is Dolemite" is the story of a struggling performer named Rudy Ray Moore who sees potential in a homeless man's jokes and turns them into a comedy routine, creating a complete persona of a fanciful pimp with the name of Dolemite.
While the humor is crude, crass and over-the-top, the film is absolutely hilarious.
There are great performances from Da'Vine Joy Randolph who plays Queen Bee and also from Wesley Snipes, Keegan-Michael Key, Craig Robinson, Mike Epps, and Titus Burgess.
