"Terminator: Dark Fate" Sizzles with Female Energy

*Spoiler Alerts*

In similar sequence to "Terminator 2: Judgement Day", a terminator is sent from the future to eliminate Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes) who is the future leader of an uprising against the machines. We also learn that after the death of her son John, Sarah Connor is on a mission to eliminate all terminators. Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and Dani meet when an augmented human soldier named Grace (Mackenzie Davis) comes back in time to protect and save Dani from a terminator sent to destroy her and thus, eliminate her future human army.

There's a lot of queer and feminist subtext to be read in this movie, directed by Tim Miller. The entire time we see these three women on a journey together, they are supportive of one another (when Connor and Grace aren't fighting over who is in charge) and the whole film provides a narrative that is womyn-centric and pretty fun and entertaining to watch.

With stunning action sequences that will have you hanging off the edge of your seat, this is one for the history books.

My main beef with the film is that the storyline was extremely simplistic and relied too much on the narrative from "Terminator 2" for inspiration.

Otherwise, it was a fun action flick.
