"Mile 22": A Visceral Thrill Ride

Every minute of "Mile 22" will have you hanging onto your seat for dear life. Director Peter Berg's new film is a tough, grown-up action flick that feels raw and provides an honest portrayal of international military intelligence work. It's punctuated by well-developed character backgrounds of the two lead characters, CIA operatives James Silva and Alice Kerr, played by Mark Wahlberg and Lauren Cohan as they struggle to keep their emotions under control and their wits about them while on a harrowing mission to drop off Indonesian double agent, Li Noor, played by martial arts star Iko Uwais amidst a chaotic search for explosives while an entire city of corrupt officials and government intelligence closes in on them.

Gratuitous violence and intense fight scenes, viscerally raw and intriguing. Caution to those with sensitivities to war action sequences and violence.
