"A Simple Favor" Re-Awakens French New Wave and Classic Noir.

Paul Feig's new film makes us all long to be classy and French. Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick star alongside Henry Golding in this year's best suspense film. It's a tantalizing re-imagining of Classic Noir and French New Wave cinema. Lively, Kendrick and Golding have fabulous chemistry on screen.

Anna Kendrick plays Stephanie Smothers, the film's young ingenue, as a type-A mommy-vlogger. She's introduced to Emily Nelson (Lively) the femme fatale with an exhilarating presence that is both sensual and dangerous.

The film toes a fine line between being hilarious at times and maintaining its serious subject: When the young mom (Kendrick) discovers her best friend Emily Nelson is missing, she sets out on a dangerous quest to uncover the truth behind her friend's mysterious disappearance. The film has a play-worthy soundtrack including some of my favorite French classics by Francoise Hardy, Bridgitte Bardot and Serge Gainsbourg like this one: Serge Gainsbourg & Brigitte Bardot - Bonnie And Clyde (Music Video) and some of the best costume-designs by RenĂ©e Ehrlich Kalfus including vintage Ralph Lauren.

"A Simple Favor" also includes a sexy love triangle with both comedic and alluring moments between Golding and Kendrick and Kendrick and Lively. The film is absolutely delicious! Go see it.
