"Pet Sematary" is Dark and Disappointing

Stephen King's 1989 horror classic, PET SEMATARY gets a reboot in 2019.

The film stars Jason Clarke, John Lithgow and Jeté Laurence who plays the little girl.

The story revolves around a young doctor (Jason Clarke) and his family, recently relocated to a house in the country to live a more quiet life.

Their neighbor, (John Lithgow) explains that their land includes a very old pet sematary as well as acres upon acres of possibly haunted land.

The film was just as horrifying and bone-chilling as I imagined it would be.

However, the last ten minutes of the film were completely absurd and bordering on the hilarious which completely spoiled the rest of the movie for me. The third act of any film is the most important and often the hardest to get right. In this case, the filmmakers should've stuck to a more mysterious ending.

If you're headed to the theater to see it this evening, I recommend that you prepare for some jump scares and creepy cemetery scenes, along with some disturbing flashbacks.
