Disney's "Aladdin" is a Magical Ride

Hello Disney fans! The live-action version of Aladdin has arrived on a magic carpet.

Following the storyline of the classic 1992 cartoon, we have a kind-hearted, comical genie played by Will Smith, a young princess Jasmine played by Naomi Scott and Mena Massoud plays Aladdin, the "diamond in the rough" that the evil Grand Vizier Jafar is searching for.

The cinematography and production design is gorgeous. The movie provided some more culturally appropriate updates to Jasmine's wardrobe and the new song and dance numbers were fun and exciting.

Instead of relegating Jasmine to the status of potential wife, now Jasmine tells us that she "won't go silent" and she will stand up for herself and confront her father about her desire to be the Sultan.

Guy Ritchie directed this film and brought a sense of adventure and wonder to the cartoon that I think makes this version in many ways, even better than the original.
