Ryan Reynolds brings his "Deadpool" sense of humor to this children's fantasy adventure film that takes place in a city where Pokémon and humans exist in harmony.
Detective Pikachu features Justice Smith as Tim Goodman, a bored insurance salesman who begins a quest to discover what happened to his detective father who was thought to have died in a car crash at the beginning of the film. Kathryn Newton plays his friend and love interest, Lucy Stevens.
The film follows the appearance of an ancient and powerful Pokémon named Mewtwo who seems to be somehow linked to the detective's mysterious disappearance.
The Pokémons are pretty stinkin' cute and your kids will want to take one home. The movie has some adult humor that may not be appropriate for very young children, but otherwise, the film was entertaining and fun.
