The X-Men are back! In the latest film from Marvel Studios, Jean Grey becomes "Dark Phoenix" one of the most fearsome mutants of all. In "Dark Phoenix" a young Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) must come to grips with who she is and what her powers actually are. She has a high telekinetic ability to move objects with her mind and causes an accident in the beginning of the movie that results in the death of her mother. Unable to face an unknown future with Jean, her father agrees to let her go to be raised by Charles Xavier. Jean is extremely powerful, becoming increasingly dangerous to others around her and ends up killing Raven in an intense moment of rage.
The film was entertaining but did not "wow" me in any way. I felt that the antagonist character was not well developed and was weak, providing little substance to the story and providing little resistance to Jean as the hero.
