"The Queen" 4K Remake Needs to be Seen

At a pivotal time in U.S. history when the moving camera was first being used to shed light on repressed individuals and elements of counter culture in America, Director Frank Simon takes us to a drag show competition and introduces us to the queens vying for the title and prize.

The camera takes us behind the scenes to a competition in Manhattan and the audience gets an intimate look at the beauty pageant process, the drama, and the unique stories of these men.

We watch the men in dance class, we see them prepping hair and makeup while bantering back and forth, helping or hindering each other.

There's a really tender scene of the men together discussing their coming out stories and how their families and friends treat them.

In this remastered 4K addition, generations who grew up on "Ru Paul's Drag Race" get to see where it all started.

The film was originally released in 1968 and stars Jim Dine, Jack Doroshow, and Bruce Jay Friedman.

It's a classic film and one that needs to be seen.
