"Doctor Sleep" is the much anticipated sequel to Stephen King's "The Shining" novel, follows the tale of the young child Danny Torrance as an adult who struggles with alcoholism, addiction and poverty.
As Danny (Dan) navigates his tragic life, he finds himself seeking help for a reason that he can't describe. Gifted with the shining, Dan meets a young girl who also shines and finds that she is in mortal danger by a group that drains people of their powers.
Featuring a brilliant performance from Ewan McGregor, "Doctor Sleep" has a lot of heart and carries Danny's tale in a way that makes us care about him. In her breakout role, Kyliegh Curran does an excellent job playing Abra Stone, a fiercely strong girl with a big heart and a lot of shine.
