FORD V. FERRARI

*Spoiler Alert*

Based on a true story about a great race and two incredible men, "Ford v. Ferrari" follows the story of charismatic sports car designer Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) and his British driver Ken Miles (Christian Bale) as they are asked to race against Ferrari in the 24 hour Les Mans race which took place in 1966.

While the acting was good, the script could have been much better. The viewer had to sit through two long, major races, one at Daytona and the last at Les Mans and this left hardly any time for the screenwriter to reveal that Ken Miles is tragically killed at the end of the movie.

The screenwriter could've focused on a few highlights from Daytona and spent more time exploring Ken Miles' character at the end after he is stripped of his 1st place title at Les Mans by the corporate heads (including Mr. Ford II) for a photo op that shows all the three Ford cars coming to the finish line together. I would've liked to see the effect that this loss had on Ken and how he had grown as a character from being a difficult person in the beginning, to learning to work with others in the end.

Because the performances were amazing, I'll give this a B.
